The pre-shift safety briefing is the part of the day everyone agrees matters and nobody has time for. A supervisor gathers the crew, runs through the hazards, confirms who has what protective equipment, points at the muster point, and gets people working. When it is done from memory it takes five minutes and covers whatever the supervisor happened to think of. When it is done from a card it takes the same five minutes and covers the same points every single shift.

That consistency is the whole value. A printed briefing card turns a variable conversation into a repeatable one, which is what makes it defensible in an incident review and useful to a crew member on their first day. Why Briefing Cards Get Ignored
